The Rot God has purple growths all over its body -- pop them with your attacks for major damage!

During this initial phase, your only objective is to target the large purple crystals/growthsall over the creature's body. They take two fully charged normal arrows to shatter, so utilize your jumping shot where time slows down to accurately line up the projectile. Once you've broken off at least a couple of these purple spots, you'll be teleported to Phase 2. During Phase 1, the Rot Godwill have a small handful of attacks, in addition to a widely-telegraphed Grab attack which will deal moderate damage if he connects with it:

Headfirst Charge:

The Rot Godwill lower its head, then charge directly at Kena. This attack can and should be avoided by shielding through it, as the creature's physical size makes dodging on either side of this charge very difficult. After performing the charge, the creature will be slow to recover, so use this opportunity to pivot and shoot at the creature's weak points.

Crystal Swipe:

The creature will bring one of its arms back and quickly swings it up, bringing with it a straight line of large crystals that travel across the ground. The attack can be avoided by dodging to the left or right as the creature's arm comes up, and has a very noticeable tell for when this attack is going to come out.

Crystal Slam:

The Rot Godwill rise up on its back two legs, remain a moment, then slam down in front of it, summoning a fast-moving shockwave and a small pile of crystals on the ground. When you see the creature rear back, simply start moving away, and when it begins to start the slam, jump to avoid the shockwave.

(An important fact to take note of: there are zerohealing flowers in this phase of the fight, meaning you must complete it on one health bar. Take this fact into account when deciding to rush in or stay back)

The creature will teleport you after you break enough of its crystals, creating a break in the fight for it to recover. You'll be placed in a combat room with multiple enemies that you must clear in order to proceed. These are all basic enemies who can be dispatched with relative ease, so make sure to target the Moths first, then deal with the Villager types on the ground. After clearing out this group a second cadre will spawn, this time with Salamanders as well. Just like before, take out the Moths first but then target the Lizards since their projectile attacks can be very distracting and slow down the fight. After that, clear out the Villagers and the Portal to the next section will open up.

Dash through the portal to find the final combat room, in which stands multiple Moths, two Villagers, and the Wood Knight mini-boss. Take out the additional enemies with arrows so as to keep your distance until you are ready to take on the Knight. This Wood Knight is identical to the mini-boss you've fought a couple of times throughout the game, so employ all of the same strategies (shield through the Boomerang attack, try to parry initial swipes, shoot off the courage nodes all along its body). Once this foe is vanquished, you can cleanse the corruption in the area after shattering the gold prison that your Rot friends are being kept in. Dashthrough the Portal to find yourself back in the main arena, with a very angry Spirit waiting for you:

This is the third phase of the fight, and just like before, your goal is to shatter the crystals on its body with Arrows. He'll introduce some new attacks listed below, as well as giving you some healing flowers around the arena in case you're low on health. After you break all 4, you'll be teleported to the penultimate phase, the Jumping Section:

Corruption Laser:

The creature will jump outside the arena proper and charge up a devastating laser beam from its mouth. You do notwant to be hit by this attack, so simply shield Dashthrough it to avoid taking damage.

Swipe and Slam:

A two-piece combo, the creature will take a quick swipe at Kena before bringing its arm down to the ground, summoning crystals and a small shockwave. Just like the large slam in Phase 1, dodge out of the way and jump over the resulting shockwave to avoid taking damage.

This phase contains no combat at all, but if you fail the jumping section or die here, you'll have to start from the very beginning. This section involves hopping from platform to platform, using the Bowto fly from flower to flower, and using Bombsto expose platforms to jump on. Many of the platforms will begin to fall once you step on them for the first time, so be sure to keep moving to avoid falling to your death. Some flowers might also require you to do a jump or double jump before they become available to shoot to, so keep that in mind if you feel stuck. Once you make it to the end, destroy the gold prison to obtain all of your remaining Rot friends, cleanse the corruption, and Dashthrough the Portal to emerge in the final phase:

This is the final phase of this boss and is mostly a puzzle encounter. The Rot Godhas 3 Gold Spearsembedded in its back, which you'll have to employ your Rot friends to cleanse with Bridge of Spirits Trophy Guide • PSNProfiles.com (2). They only become vulnerable when the creature begins to roar and charge up its attack. Throughout this encounter, you'll have small enemies that you can use to fill up your courage meter. Once all 3 spears have been removed, the corrupt heart of the beast will become exposed and it'll collapse to the ground. Run over, attach your Rot to the flower, and cleanse that bad boy for the trophy to pop!

Some new attacks The Rot Godwill use in this phase:

Rain of Flame:

The creature will summon a collection of lightning strikes, after which small meteors will fall to the battlefield resulting in omnidirectional rings of fire being cast outward. Just like any other energy ring attack, simply jump over to avoid them.

Wave of Corruption:

The creature will jump completely outside the arena and land on the tree in the background. It will then roar, sending out a bubble of corruption energy towards you. This attack can be avoided by Dashingthrough it, negating any damage, and keeping you on the move.
